Virtual Classes or In-Person Classes

Virtual Program
(Study from the comfort of your home)

Part One — Spring

Students begin the program by taking an in-person diagnostic practice test at Stuyvesant High School. This assessment helps us identify areas of focus for each student.

After the initial practice test, students meet weekly online with an instructor from a licensed test prep provider to learn SHSAT content and test-taking strategies.

  • Three 1-hour virtual classes per week

  • Approximately 5 students per class

  • A regular weekly schedule will be set

Part Two — Summer

Students continue SHSAT preparation online with the same assigned test prep provider.

  • Additional instruction and practice tests

  • Opportunities to meet current Stuyvesant students and alumni

Part Three — Fall

Students complete final preparation with continued guidance from their test prep provider.

  • Final practice test and review session in person at Stuyvesant High School

  • Continued access to Stuyvesant students and alumni for guidance and Q&A

Throughout the program, students will have opportunities to ask questions about the SHSAT, attending a specialized high school, and life after high school. School tours will also be offered.

  • Approximately 10 students per class
